What is the Role of the
Population and Global Health Committee?
The mission of the National Student Nurses’ Association Population and Global Health Committee is to educate nursing students on the importance of population health and to promote global health awareness within the nursing community. The committee seeks to provide nursing students with an understanding of population health factors that may influence health outcomes within communities. Nursing students are then equipped with the necessary knowledge to address the health needs of diverse populations. The committee aims to raise awareness about the global health issues affecting populations worldwide.

Quarterly Awards
Mental Health Advocate Award (Fall) ( Sept – Oct – Nov – 2026)
Given to a student nurse who has made a major contribution when it comes to advocating and raising awareness about mental health resources in their own community. The student will provide tangible resources that demonstrate more accessible mental health resources. (Submit by December 15, 2026)
Application Method: Picture Essay that demonstrates more accessible mental health resources. A minimum of 300 words.
Prize Amount: $100
